CLUB DAY IS SEPTEMBER 9TH
The Alumni Game is one of Columbia Business School Rugby Football Club’s most cherished traditions. Since the club’s early years in the late 1960s, this annual match has brought together generations of CBS RFC players, past and present, for a spirited contest that celebrates the legacy of the club.
More than just a rugby match, the Alumni Game is a living symbol of what makes CBS RFC unique: the bonds forged on the pitch that last well beyond graduation. Every spring, alumni return to Morningside Heights to lace up their boots, reconnect with teammates, and pass down the values of teamwork, resilience, and camaraderie to the next generation of CBS players.
The game is followed by post-match celebrations where stories are shared, friendships are renewed, and new connections are built between students and alumni. For many, it serves as a reminder that while seasons come and go, the CBS RFC community remains a lifelong family.

Each October, CBS Rugby hosts its Annual Alumni Game on Randall’s Island, bringing past and present players together on the pitch. Just a short ride from campus, Randall’s Island provides the perfect setting for a spirited match followed by post-game celebrations that keep the CBS Rugby tradition alive.

Nearest Subway Stop:
Take the 4, 5, or 6 train to 125th Street Station in East Harlem (Lexington Ave).
Walking Route:
Exit at 125th Street and walk east along 125th Street (~10 minutes) to the RFK/Triborough Bridge entrance at 125th Street & 1st Avenue.
Follow the pedestrian walkway across the bridge (well-marked with signs to Randall’s Island). The walk is about 0.5 miles (10–12 minutes).
Once on the island, follow signs to the South Fields (Field 50) near the Icahn Stadium complex.

From CBS (116th & Broadway), walk east to 125th Street & Lexington Avenue (~15 minutes by foot, or take the M60-SBS bus crosstown to Lexington Avenue).
At 125th Street & Lexington Avenue, transfer to the M35 bus.
The M35 crosses the RFK/Triborough Bridge and drops off at Icahn Stadium (20 Randall’s Island Park, NY 10035).
From Icahn Stadium, it’s a 5–7 minute walk south to Field 50 (South Fields complex).
Travel Time: ~35–40 minutes total from campus (depending on crosstown traffic).

Public restrooms are located at several points across Randall’s Island Park:
Icahn Stadium (20 Randall’s Island Park, NY 10035): Closest large facility with permanent restrooms.
Sunken Meadow Fields: Restroom building available near the athletic fields on the northeast side of the island.
Golf Center (1 Randall’s Island Park, NY 10035): Indoor facility with public restrooms.
South Fields Area: Portable restrooms are typically placed near active fields, including Field 50, depending on Parks Department scheduling.
Note: Restroom availability may vary seasonally (October can have reduced facilities). We recommend players and spectators plan ahead and use Icahn Stadium restrooms when possible.
